Brighton Past, the group, began on Facebook in January 2011, with the idea of friends adding their own photos of Brighton from their family albums. Photos that hadn't been seen in any local history book before. Brighton Past has become a hugely popular group, where members have the opportunity to share their own family photographs, and discuss our local history. So before the photos get lost into the archives of Facebook, I figured I needed to create a website for them. Picking the best of the photographs from Brighton Past, with very kind permission of its members, I hope to build up a wonderful catalogue of Brighton's Past for everyone to enjoy.
